Rushall Olympic 3, Leighton T 0
A DEPLETED Leighton side slumped to a 3-0 defeat away to promotion-chasing Rushall Olympic in Walsall on Tuesday.
The hosts, still in with a chance of making the play-offs, made a nervous start and Leighton tested their keeper with efforts from Leon Cashman and Ben Gallant.
Town keeper Liam Jahn, continuing in place of the injured Nigel Maarman and Steve Root, saved well from Marshall.
After a goalless first half, Rushall's opener came on 57 minutes when Jahn misjudged a free kick from Barrow and the ball ended up in the back of the net.
Rushall scored twice again through Marshall and Junior Brown to seal the points.
Town played some impressive football but manager Sean Downey was disappointed that defensive errors cost them so dearly.
This Saturday Town play their last BGB League game of the season when they visit Stourport – and Downey is hoping the likes of Enzo Silvestri, Lance Gentle-King, Bruce Wilson and Craig Kench will be fit.
The match kicks off at 3pm and the coach leaves at 11.30am.
On Tuesday, Leighton take a two-goal lead to Long Buckby for the second leg of their Buckingham Charity Cup semi-final. The match kicks off at 7.45pm.
Team: Jahn, Fagan, Copson, Chapman, Clifford, Howley, Thomas, McNulty, Gallant, Cashman, Old. Subs: Hassan (for Chapman), Denton, Norton.
