Hanwell Town’s winner 18 minutes from time snatched what looked like an excellent point for Leighton Town at Bell Close on Saturday.
Craig Bicknell’s men were more than a match for their opponents, who started the day third in the table, but were dealt a cruel blow when Bill Healey flicked in to take all three points.
The result leaves Leighton still wallowing down in 19th, but are still in touch with teams above them.
Leighton targeted Hanwell keeper Alex Tokarczyk, who looked like he was carrying a knock.
And there was almost egg on his face when his own defender Tom Kennedy nearly converted Danny Watson’s cross into his own net.
