Leighton footballer continues his Manchester United role

Harry to be a case study with footballing giants.

Leighton footballer Harry Kelly, pictured above, has been chosen as a case study by Manchester United FC after he was selected as a Pass It On ambassador last season.

He took part in the Manchester United Soccer Schools' Champions Day, which was a celebration for various winners from the club's short courses in the UK and Ireland.

The players were selected through several skills challenges and scores from their United Vision assessments.

Harry, aged nine, from Leighton, attended the Club Development Course at Leighton United in 2008. After winning a place on the Champions Day, Harry was invited – along with 70 other players – to play on the Old Trafford pitch in Manchester.

United then launched its Pass It On campaign, where children are invited to learn 10 skills and tips and then in turn pass them on to friends and team-mates. Harry has since passed on the skills, tips and posters to schoolfriends and his club team-mates at AFC Dunstable.

All of Harry's friends are now encouraged to pass on these skills to their other friends.

Soon the whole of Leighton and Bedfordshire will be playing the United way.

Harry, who attends St Leonard's Lower School in Heath and Reach, has since returned to MUSS, this time to try its famous residential course at Denstone, Staffordshire. Harry had such a positive experience he can't wait to go back. Mum Karen said: "MUSS has now opened doors for Harry and he has such self-belief."

Harry will feature in a case study for the new Pass It On page on MUSS's website under Kids Zone.

Karen said: "We thought that was the end of it but they are keeping in touch and Harry has to keep up the passing-on skills, so keep going Bedfordshire!"
