Bold selection pays off for Buckle

Town boss Paul Buckle

Town boss Paul Buckle

Hatters boss Paul Buckle was delighted to see his bold selection pay off in some style on Monday as Luton ran out 3-1 winners at Ebbsfleet, writes Mike Simmonds.

All four of Luton’s frontline strikers started, with Stuart Fleetwod and Andre Gray either side of Jon Shaw, while Scott Rendell dropped into the hole behind.

The three goals were as a direct result of fine link-up play between the quartet too as Buckle said: “We’re still only a few games into the season and we’re looking for the winning formula, a balanced team and I haven’t been afraid to do it (pick four strikers).”
