Buckle hoping to emulate Torquay play-off triumph with Luton

NEW Hatters boss Paul Buckle is hoping he can emulate the success he enjoyed at Torquay United with Luton Town, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 41-year-old was unveiled to the media on Sunday morning, before winning his first match against Hayes & Yeading 4-2 on Monday afternoon.

Buckle has the experience of taking a side through the Conference play-offs with the Gulls back in 2009, beating Cambridge United, managed by his predecessor Gary Brabin in the final.

He said: “It’s a proud moment getting back into the Football League. I understand the hurt of the football club, from the supporters to the directors, to everybody that they weren’t in the league and the pressure the players are feeling.

“I’ve been there and felt that, so that’s why it was appealing to come here and try to emulate that.”
