Buckle: There was no point fighting Shaw’s suspension
Jon Shaw is pushed to the ground against AFC Telford
Manager Paul Buckle confirmed there was little point appealing Jon Shaw’s three match ban for an FA misconduct charge as it had been handed out after the event, writes Mike Simmonds.
The 28-year-old was hit with the penalty after the FA studied the video from the AFC Telford match where Shaw was pushed to the ground, with a mass brawl ensuing.
Bucks defender Dan Preston appealed his red card, which was received after he tangled with Ronnie Henry, but it was turned down by the FA, who have now added an extra three games to his suspension.
With this in mind, Buckle agreed accepting the punishment was the right course of action.
