Buckle thrilled to finally capture Rendell

Hatters boss Paul Buckle has re-signed Scott Rendell

HATTERS boss Paul Buckle was thrilled with the acquisition of Wycombe Wanderers striker Scott Rendell.

Buckle, who signed Rendell, 25, when in charge of Torquay United back in 2009, said: “Scott didn’t have to come and join us. He had a year left on his contract at Wycombe and had offers from other league clubs.

“He’s got a brilliant track record of scoring goals and is another player with a promotion on his CV.

“He’s a winner and he’s aware of what we’re trying to achieve here.

“I had him on loan at Torquay and tried to sign him but wasn’t able to, but it’s great we’ve been able to do a deal.”

Buckle also believes that the lure of playing at Kenilworth Road worked in Town’s favour as he added: “Went we sat down Scott immediately spoke about our support.

“He’s aware of the fanbase and the grandeur and history of this club.

“He’s under no illusions how tough the task will be, but he will score goals and will make goals. He’s a great age; a brilliant age - and it’s great he’s here.

“One thing I can assure you is that he’ll work his socks off, and I’m sure the supporters will appreciate that and welcome him with open arms to the Luton Town family.”
