MIDFIELDER Danny Spiller was sold on joining Luton Town after spending just an hour in the company of manager Paul Buckle and managing director Gary Sweet, writes Mike Simmonds
The 30-year-old was released by League Two Gillingham at the end of the campaign and had a number of clubs in the Football League interested in his services.
But a meeting with the Hatters duo of Buckle and Sweet quickly made it clear to Spiller that his future lay at Kenilworth Road.
He said: “I was very impressed with both Gary and Paul when I met them and was that impressed by their drive and ambition that I signed after the first meeting.
“I had agreed in principle within about an hour of just chatting with them, that was me and that was what we wanted to do.”
