His 100 not out, coming in partnership with opening bat Mark Nelson’s 91, saw the visitors to their first win of the season and into third in the Division 1 standings.

The home side batted in fits and starts on their way to 203-9. While there were a handful of starts, Brickhill’s bowlers, led by Hayden Symmonds’ 3-32, took regular wickets as the home side remained not out.

But despite losing Patrick Sreenivasaprasad without troubling the scorers, the partnership between Nelson and Carter did the damage.

Leading the way, Carter crashed 17 boundary fours, and two maximums on his way to an unbeaten 100, while Nelson came up just short of the landmark on 91, hitting nine fours and three sixes as Brickhill (206-2) cruised to victory.

In Division 3, Great Brickhill 2nds (178-4) saw off Tiddington 2nds (174) in the reverse fixture.

Three wickets apiece for Lawrence Armstrong and James Clark helped restrict the visitors, while a brilliant 68 from opening batsman Richard Winchester put Brickhill firmly in control as they coasted to victory.

The result, like their first team counter-parts, moves Brickhill up to third in the table.
