Eaton Bray climb the table with win over New City

Eaton Bray moved up into second place in Four Counties Division 1 after thumping New City by 69 runs.

Setting the pace by reaching 206, Bray were in excellent form with the ball, skittling the home side for 137 to move up into second spot behind New Bradwell.

Eggington Foresters won their first game of the season but remain bottom of Division 2.

Despite setting a fairly low total of 128 against Buckland & Aston Clinton, Eggington’s bowlers did the business to bowl out their opponents for 91 to win it.

Milton Bryan slipped to fourth in Division 3 after losing to early pace setters Westcroft by five wickets. A fine opening partnership from the MK side saw them set 243-5 come the close. Alan Deitch took 4-28 for Milton Bryan. The visitors struggled with the bat though, with a disappointing seven ducks in the innings, and only Peter Young reaching double figures (20), as Milton Bryan collapsed to just 43 all out.

Wing with Wingrave remain in the bottom two after losing to Ivinghoe & Pitstone by 155 runs. Darren Badrick top scored with 83 as Pitstone reached 303-9. In reply, Wing were always behind the chase, and were all out for 148. Stoke Hammond are up to third after beating Studham.

Milton Bryan 2nds (177) are bottom of Division 4 after losing to Edlesborough (180-3).

In Division 5, Stewkley Vicarage (186) are up to second after beating New Bradwell 2nds (180), Great Brickhill 3rds (78-0) cruised to a comfortable win over St Andrews (75), Soulbury (118-3) beat Lidlington (115) thanks to Nick Mead (4-32) and 51 from James Carter. Eggington 2nds (109) lost to Thurleigh (110-7).

In Division 6, Leighton Buzzard 3rds’ game against Old Bradwell 2nds was postponed as the MK side couldn’t put out a side. Eaton Bray 2nds (185-3) beat Spartans (181).

In Division 7, Ivinghoe & Pitstone 2nds (222) beat Wolverton 3rds (94), Great Brickhill 4ths (137) lost to Westcroft 3rds (139-6) and Wing with Wingrave 2nds (133-6) lost to Edlesborough 2nds (132-9)
