Flecknell stars for Eaton Bray as they fly to the top

Eaton Bray are clear at the top of Four Counties Division 1 after just two games as they crushed Olney.

Wes Hosking (63) helped Bray off to a good start but James Flecknell came up agonisingly short of his century, falling on 99 as the home side posted 278-5.

In reply, Olney barely got the chance to get going though as Josh Edwins (4-37) and Flecknell (3-28) skittled them for 212 to win by 66 runs and move 12 points clear after two games.

In Division 2, Eggington Foresters (216) drew with North Crawley 2nds (183-8).

Milton Bryan (96-1) made light work of Wing with Wingrave (92) in Division 3 as Jamie Westley took a remarkable 4-7 to send Wing bottom.

Stoke Hammond (181) were well beaten by Luton Caribbean (279-8) to join Wing in the drop zone, while Ivinghoe & Pitstone (68) were thumped by leaders Westcroft (181).

It was a long afternoon for Milton Bryan 2nds’ (168-8) bowlers as they lost by 10 wickets to Wilden (170) in Division 4, while in Division 5, Stewkley Vicarage (218) made light work of Great Brickhill 3rds (80) as Tom Hardings took 5-28.

Eggington 2nds (137-8) drew with Lidlington (152-7).

In Division 6, Leighton Buzzard 3rds (108) beat Eaton Bray 2nds (68) as Greg Cooper took 6-24.

In Division 7, Wing with Wingrave 2nds (86) lost to Ivinghoe & Pitstone 2nds (89-3) while Great Brickhill 4ths (99) lost to New City 3rds (101-7).
