TEN-year-old Holly Potton from Edlesborough has been chosen as this year's carnival queen for the St Mary's Village Carnival in July.
Holly will be joined by Northall girls Isabel Dorrance, eight, and Devon Brown, eight, who will be her attendants, and carnival princess, Jemma Flitton, also eight in an open topped car, leading the parade through the streets of Eaton Bray and Edlesborough at the start of the spactacular event.

The crowds lining the procession route will be entertained by a steel band which is joining the dozens of floats that this year will be decorated on a fairytale theme.

The carnival takes place on Edlesborough Green on July 5 with a huge number of stalls, rides including a big wheel, an extensive display of vintage vehicles, entertainments and stalls. This year, the main beneficiary of the proceeds will be the East Anglian Air Ambulance Service.

Last year’s event raised a record-breaking £11,000 for local charities and good causes.
