The daughter of a cancer victim is hosting an annual Bacon Butty Breakfast in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Fiona Phimester, whose mum suffered from a cancerous brain tumour and passed away in November 2010, said: “Macmillan helped make a horrific time more bearable for all my family and I want to give a little back in order that others can continue to benefit from their support.”
Since 2011, Fiona’s family and friends have joined in across the country and they now have at least six Bacon Butty Breakfasts happening across the country as far north as the Isle of Skye.
Last year’s event raised £1400, but Fiona hopes next Saturday’s event will do even better with live music, face painting, raffle, home-baking, local stalls and plenty of bacon/egg rolls.
Fiona added: “It’s a great way of bringing the village together and it is now a fairly established event in the local calendar.
“I would absolutely love to smash last years total.”
Support Fiona’s cause by visiting The Cottesloe School dining hall in Wing on Saturday, November 9, which runs from 8.30am until 11.30am.
