Top pianist to play on at concert in theatre

The curtain will fall on a successful season for Leighton Buzzard Music Club as they host their final concert on Saturday.

The finale of their season takes place at Leighton Buzzard Library Theatre starting at 7.30pm.

It will see a piano recital by John Byron.

He is one of the region’s most’s distinguished musicians and is a composer, conductor but is primarily known as a pianist.

His piano recital at the Leighton theatre will include Beethoven’s Sonata in G, Op 14 No 2, Rachmaninov’s Fantasy Pieces, Opus 5.

There will also be a selection of vivid pieces by John Ireland including Chelsea Reach, Ragamuffin and Soho Forenoons.

In addition John will play one of his own compositions at the concert.

Leighton Buzzard Music Club has been presenting top-class professional concerts of mostly classical music since 1946.

Tickets for the show are £13 for adults and entrance is free for children under the age of 16.

There is a discount rate of £11.50 for friends of the club and £5 for LB music students although a valid student ID is required.
