Woodside Rovers U12s score 10
WOODSIDE
Woodside Rovers U12 10
Great Horwood 0
Woodside bounced back from last week's cup disappointment with a display built on simple football. Keigan Smith followed up last week's two goals with another brace and set Woodies on their way after five minutes. Within another five, Tom Boozer sidefooted home from the edge of the area to make it 2-0.

Woodies had to wait until the stroke of half-time for a third when Oscar Russell finished from close range. In between, Woodies played their best football of the season, with the midfield of James Harman, Dominic Lombino, Robert Irons and Russell all passing and moving to great effect.

Rhys Davies scored a second-half hat trick and started and finished a move, that involved Kieren Fosberry's powerful run and cross, for his first from close range. Keepers John Shaw and George Fidczuk were untroubled, the defence of Fionn Bell, Isaac Claridge, Lewis Pascoe, Luke Boyes and Robbie James were rarely troubled and played simple football too, Pascoe even managed to get himself on the scoresheet.

Charlie Mead provided a series of quality crosses that Woodies couldn't finish before Russell sealed his own hat trick and the MoM award by converting a late penalty.

Brackley 3
Woodside Wanderers U13 6
Finding themselves 1-0 down early on and without key players, the Woodside boys rallied well for a deserved win, going ahead following good work in midfield from Macey Scarborough and Josh O'Dell with strong running Sam Walker creating chances for Callum Read and Samuel Tompkins.

Captain for the day Alex Barnes made some excellent saves in the first half to keep Wanderers 3-2 up at half time.

Woodside took control in the second half and with more luck in front of goal could have made double figures. The defence looked stronger with Ben Mayles, Hugh Britt and Harry Cootes tackling hard. On the right, Ben Roff and Andre Clarke linked up well together with some neat passing, to create many opportunities, pushing Wanderers forward.

When called upon, second half keeper Matt Fisk dived bravely at the Brackley striker's feet just as he was about to shoot to keep Woodside ahead.

Wanderer's attacking pressure paid off late in the game with Samuel Tompkins getting his fourth and Callum Read his second to seal victory.
Man of the match: Andre Clarke for a fine all round performance.

Woodside Rovers U15 3
City Colts Rockets U15 0
A new 4-3-3 formation looked promising with Jell, Stiles and Jones bossing the midfield. In attack, Rovers looked threatening with O'Donoghue, Robertson and MoM Ryan troubling the Rockets defence and coming close to scoring on more then one occasion in a goalless first half.

Rovers grabbed hold of the game in the second half. A brilliant run from Jones saw him take on the whole Rockets defence before smashing the ball home. Rovers then went from strength to strength. The defence of Arscott-Smith, O'Hara, Greany and Robertson (who had replaced Simons at half time) held strong against sustained Rockets pressure.

Rovers doubled their lead when Ryan laid the ball back to Jell who, after taking it past a defender, powered the ball home and the Rockets were finished off by a well-deserved goal from Ryan ten minutes from time.

Woodside Wanderers U15 3
Brackley Athletic Jaffas 3
Woodside started the match at full speed and the first 40 minutes also saw another solid defensive performance by the home side. MoM Luke Rhodes played a number of key balls out from the back.

Mark Mitchell edged closer to his personal target with the opening goal. Luke Taylor netted his first of the season following a strong run and half time saw Woodside much the better team and leading 2-0.

Brackley ralled after the break and pulled one back, but when Mitchell was brought down in the box Shane Tiffen's subsequent spot kick had enough power to beat the keeper for his first goal in a Woodside shirt. The closing period saw Brackley mount several attacks from which they drew level.
This result sees Woodside with only one defeat in the last six games. Squad: Robin Corston, Matt Forbes, Mitchell O'Connor, Sam Hurley, Dan Blythe, Luke Rhodes, Mark Mitchell, Tom Holloway, Luke Taylor, Gary Wells, Eddie Jackson, Michael Johnson, Shane Tiffen and Pat Bell.

LEIGHTON
CORINTHIANS

Players are wanted from school Year 2 to train through the summer with a view to playing in an U8s friendly league next season. Any interested boys or girls should get their parents to call Steve Lowe, the Leighton Corinthians Junior League representative on 07830072964 before the end of April.

Old Stratford v Corinthians U8
In the first two periods were even and closely contended with both sides scoring a goal apiece, Jack Dean scoring for the Corinthians. Also both sides had good chances on goal. in the three period Corinthians went ahead with Oliver Gronert. In the fourth period Old Stratford went ahead by scoring four lucky goals in the final five or six minutes. It was a good team effort everyone after some of the team had been ill during the week. Lewis Young got Player of the Day for his efforts in defence and midfield.

Corinthians Tigers U14 4
Brackley Jaffas 1
A much improved Tigers ran out deserved victors with a confident second half display following an evenly contested opening period.

Both teams went close to opening the scoring in the first half, Tigers' keeper, Alex Eaton, pulling off an outstanding tip-over from a dipping Jaffas shot and saving well again from the resulting corner, while Richard Batten saw his low volley go just wide at the other end.

Tigers looked good down the right with Conor Goodger and Rhys Richards battling hard and linking well, setting up Felix Long and Matthew Ferguson for a couple of efforts that the Jaffas' goalie was equal to.
However, after the break Tigers took their chances. First, a fine move involving Batten's through ball to Macauley Conway who delivered right onto the head of Ferguson for 1-0. Then Conway made it two with his low, angled shot evading the diving keeper.

Jaffas pulled a goal back with a direct free kick on the edge of the Tigers area but for the most part Tigers defence was in control and when they cleared a Jaffas corner, Goodger and MOM Conway combined to set up Billy Pantling to nod Tigers 3-1 up.

Jack Ellens popped up to finish the scoring, following up Long's goal-line blocked shot to seal a good win for Tigers.

Corinthians Jaguars 1
Corinthians Tigers U14 4
Their second game in two days produced an identical scoreline for a revitalised Tigers. They surged into an early lead against a depleted Jaguars through goals from Felix Long, Matthew Ferguson and Billy Pantling. Jaguars improved and Alex Eaton in the Tigers' goal was called into action on a couple of occasions, but Richard Batten added a fine fourth for Tigers in the second half to secure victory. Sam Roberts struck a well taken consolation for a beaten Jaguars.

Corinthians Lions U14 1
Brackley Athletic 3
Lions' Division 2 baptism by fire was applied by Athletic in their first meeting when Brackley's 13-0 victory raised doubts about whether promotion had been such a bonus, so this return game proved to be a big test for the Lions, who came through it well and confirmed their improvement.

Had it not been for the loss of defender Joe Cooper early in the game the honours might have been even.

Brackley took advantage of the rearranged defence and were two goals up at the break. They scored again on the restart and shades of the earlier defeat returned.

The Lions eventually took control of the game and after forcing several corners Ben Scatchett lobbed a goal to make it 3-1.

Athletic had to rally their defence to keep the home side at bay, with Lions content with near misses against determined opponents.

HEATH PANTHERS
Westoning 2
Heath Panthers U11s Kittens 3
Danielle Kaye scored one followed by Charlie Kaye giving Heath a 2-0 lead at half time. Ami Spalding and Brooke John kept the defence strong at the back. Samantha Davis, Chloe Birnie and Kelsey Atkinson worked hard in the midfield. There were lots of hard work played from both teams.

In the second half Westoning came in to making it 2-2 with two free kicks. Charlie hit back with another good goal making it 2-3. Toni Kaye did really well in goal. Keep it up girls. POM Brooke John.

LEIGHTON TOWN
Leighton Town Reds U8
v Leighton United
In their last game of the season Town were looking to end on a high note. In the first half both teams went for it with some great football being played. Reds attacked and United counter attacked and Charlie and Henry both had chances which the United keeper saved with some outstanding saves. Leo and Archie were repelling United and Freddie and Nathan strong in midfield breaking up and setting up attacks. After another chance went by United broke and took the lead.

Reds unrattled took the game to their local rivals and Freddie was inches away from heading an equaliser. United broke and went further ahead. Louis was on and making gut busting runs but the half ended. In the second half Town once more searched for a goal with Freddie pushing on. Josh was called into action and made a couple of good saves. United then went up again and scored with two more following. Reds were still not giving up with Sam trying to pick up any chance to start an attack.

Tiredness crept in for Town as three quick goals finished the game. The supporters were left wondering how Town had not scored and the scoreline was harsh on a hard working Town. MoM Charlie. Well played lads an ever improving season and we can look forward to next year now.

Well played too on Saturday in their tournament against some good teams they remained unbeaten.

MK City Saints U8
v Leighton Town U8
Town again showed they can play good football. From the start Judd made a great tackle to give Pickering a chance to run at the defence and made a great pass to Tyas and scored. Hickman played fantastic with Tyas and made some great chances. McDiarmid performed well with Judd and made sure the ball always went their way. Crann looked alert in goal and ran from his line every time City came at him to collect the ball. Pickering and Harrison performed well and made a solid defence.

Crann made a brave save in the box and with fast thinking kicked the ball to Tyas, who passed to Stevens who passed back to Tyas. A great left footed kick from Tyas to the City goalie, who dropped the ball allowing Tyas to score. Harrison played well with his concentration and tackles, who gave chances to Hickman and Stevens. McDiarmid once again proved that he can tackle and pass. He made a great pass to Stevens who scored. City ran toward Town's defence but Harrison made another great tackle to dribble the ball and pass to Tyas who scored.

Leighton Town U9 3
Sandy Colts U9 2
On a sunny day Town obviously were still in bed after losing an hour's sleep but managed to grind out a win. in the first half Town were below par but still created chances which were not converted. David and Nathan were fighting hard but could not find any rhythm.

Colts then shocked Town by taking the lead. In the second half the sleeping giant had been awoken and Town then stepped into gear. George hit the bar with a shot that nearly took the goal out of the ground, Nathan hit the post following up. Jack had shots blocked and the supporters thought that this was not their day. Bradlee and Alex stood firm at the back and Leyton was on raiding down the left. Suddenly Nathan was put through and levelled and soon after went through to make it 2-1. Colts were reeling with Town stepping it up. David headed against the bar twice from corners by Jack as Town turned up the heat.

Leyton skipped inside to drill home number three.
Isaac was then called into action coming off his line well and clearing. More chances came but no finish could be applied. With seconds left Colts got a second from a corner but by then it was over for them. MoM Nathan. Well played lads as an under par performance still brought home three points.

Leighton Town Girls U12 0
Biggleswade 4
Biggleswade are the new league champions and boast an impressive 100 per cent record, but this match was extremely even for long periods.

A brave attempt to save a powerful shot led to Alicia Franklin being injured and the visitors taking the lead. The excellent Charlotte Carpenter went between the sticks but within seconds a long throw was turned into her net. Sian Kennett, Kiera Lewis and Chanice Ellis refused to buckle in midfield and Town started to dominate. The key moment of the second half arrived when Milly Mander hit crossbar and post and the hosts escaped. Charlotte Blythe added aggression to midfield and Town pushed their dangerous opponents back. Jodie Turney created a couple of chances for herself but was not able to convert them. Sadly for Town the league champions stirred themselves and snatched a couple of late goals despite Rae Glennon's best efforts.

St Josephs FC 3
Leighton Town Spartans 2
Classy football from the first whistle led to total domination with the boys close to scoring on many occasions. Darren Sanderson, Joe Boniface and Luke Whitby lined up to take shots but unfortunately all didn't find the back of the net. George Franklin was superb all over the pitch taking long range shots and breaking up play. The hosts replied with a series of shots at goal all dealt with by goalkeeper Jordan Bassett in his usual professional manner, backed up by ever present Tyler Farrugia who was last man standing to clear the ball from the goal line.

The deadlock was eventually broken after a series of passes in the box between midfielders Joe Boniface, Billy Patterson, and Jordan Koch eventually falling to Luke Whitby who calmly slotted past the keeper putting Leighton in the lead. Callum Waldock was unlucky to add to the score sheet on a number of occasions, the closest being a thunderbolt free kick that unfortunately hit the cross bar.

The second period was a more open, end-to-end attacking game. Both keepers and defenders Joshua Wavish, Tyler Farrugia, Ollie Vine and Jordan Sutton were kept much busier Jordan Koch had an outstanding game as he expertly marshalled the game from centre midfield Billy Patterson looped an inch-perfect ball from the wing to Luke Whitby for him to find the back of the net putting Spartans in a 2-0 lead.

This lit the fire underneath St Joe's and saw them come back into the game with a vengeance and they were able to turn their dominance into three successive goals. Unfortunately another performance that doesn't reflect the end result.

Dunstable Town Icknield 2
Leighton Town U15 1
Town, initially out fought by a resolute Icknield, were suckered by a long ball and conceded early on.

Liam Edwards then delivered a high ball, won well by Tom Gordon, but Jack Sewell's resultant effort was saved.
A speculative lob then put the Reds two down.

The midfield, through the bravery of Charlie Green, work rate of Tom Coleman, and quality of Alfie Ruston, who tried to slow the ball down and play, got Leighton back into it. Due reward came when, after a good build-up, an accurate Luke Binding cross was bravely headed in by Gordon.

Town dominated the start of the second period. Lee Adams came on and provided some steel. A superb move involving Green, Edwards, Gordon and Jordan Potter was thwarted by an offside decision. Sewell then had successive efforts denied as Icknield were opened up.

Callum Boskett and Dominic Cooper were rugged and composed at the back; Matt Fisher handled deftly behind them. Sub Danny O'Donnell made several crucial defensive interventions.
The mercurial Gordon menaced down both flanks, and his penetrative cross nearly caused an own goal. Sewell's shout for a penalty was ignored and Boskett's splendid header blocked, as Leighton experienced one of those days.

LEIGHTON UNITED
Mid Beds Tigers A
v Leighton United U8 B
Tigers started strongly, dominating the first ten minutes but Liam Lindgren, Oliver Cully and Chris Field defended brilliantly for Leighton. Gradually Leighton got back into the game with a great probing runs by Lenny Loader and Kailan Farrugia which won corners for Leighton.

These were taken well but some frantic Tigers defending saw the ball cleared to half way. Leighton continued to pile on the pressure this time Gian Luca Sinatra made a great run and shot which was forced wide giving Leighton another corner. A great corner kick landed at the feet of Alex Sibley who scored Leighton's first goal of the game on the stroke of half time.

The second half started as the 1st ended with a constant stream of Leighton attacks. James Head made a great run forward slicing open the Tigers defence before calmly slotting in a fantastic goal and adding a second to Leighton's total.

At this stage Leighton were in total control of the game and would have added two more if it weren't for spirited Tigers defending. The second half seemed to take an age and as time passed the young Leighton team started to tire. Inevitably this led to some mistakes and Tigers took advantage by scoring two goals in the last five minutes to earn an unlikely draw.

Leighton United
v Leighton Town U8
There wasn't much between the two sides in first ten minutes but United found the back of the net first courtesy of Hatchet Harry. Town were keeping the pressure on forcing the united keeper to make some outstanding saves but United hit back with another goal from Louie Sky Walker.

United continued to apply the pressure this time forcing the Town keeper to make some good saves. United went from strength to strength, a great all round performance from all the united players.

With a comfortable lead the united manager was able to swap players around and wasn't disappointed with results, young Bradley was the fox in the box bagging four goals for his team.

More contributions from Louie Sky Walker and Morgan who had had a solid game earning him man of the match. All in all a solid team performance, good defence from Max, Sam, Jack, Adam and Jake along with the rest of the team.

Leighton Town kept their heads up, keeping the pressure on but couldn't beat the United keeper and solid defence.

Bedford U10 Girls 4
Leighton United U10 Girls 0
With Bedford chasing the league and cup double, this was always going to be a difficult game for United. Savannah Shepherd in goal had to block some early efforts and the defence needed to clear a number of corners. Jasmine Page pulled a shot just wide and Alisa Chapman missed the other post by a similar margin. Bedford though scored two quick goals before the break.

Lizzie Richardson had a shot saved from point blank range which somehow cleared the crossbar and a goalmouth scramble saw several players try their luck, Charlie Lambert going closest. Bedford scored on the break, so with three goals to pull back United pushed everyone forwards.

Rachel Moffat covered the entire pitch, tidying up at the back and also rampaging forwards to test the Bedford keeper several times.

Page and Richardson had chances, though Lucie Webster and Jade Linders were kept busy in defence as Bedford tried to exploit the gaps. Bedford scored with the last kick of the game as the United defence tired, but the scoreline looked more one-sided than the game was.

Player of the Match was Savannah Shepherd.

Leighton United U10B 4
Wilstead Harriers 0
United started strongly with Jonah Gutteridge testing their keeper with a great strike quickly followed with another from Jamie Leighton. Nathan Ashburner made a fantastic run but was unlucky not to score.

United were awarded a penalty which Jay Denniston took putting away United's first. Theo Cox received a great cross which he calmly placed into the bottom right corner giving United their second goal. Cox's quick thinking saw their keeper out of position and hammered United's third in from the half way line. Alex Aldous-Ball was solid as always at the back and Keeper Brett Smith made two great saves taking United into a comfortable 3-0 lead at half time.

United continued the pressure and were awarded a second penalty which Denniston put away for United's fourth. Midfielder Owen Reay battled hard keeping possession and passing through to Louie Clowes who was ready and waiting in the box. Aldous-Ball and Keeper Smith handled anything that came their way keeping another clean sheet with a 4-0 win for United and securing the league title with an excellent team effort.

MoM was captain Theo Cox with two great goals and for his excellent defending.

Leighton United U10 D 2
Beeccroft Youth U10B 3
Straight from the whistle United came under attack and a good move down the left saw Beecroft go ahead as the United keeper Sam Olson could only parry into the net.

United still not having woke up found them selves two down five minutes later through an excellent first time volley. This woke United up and with the back two of Louis Lenander and Joel Parish performing really well.

PoM Jay Parish made great runs down the right and put in superb crosses for the midfield of Zoe Molloy and Oliver Brown and Grant Brandom.
United took game to their opposition towards the end of the first half and with the introduction of Nicholas Tompkins and Robert Smith they strung a good move together for Nicholas to score to make it 2-1 at the break.

The second half saw a different United and they were all over Beecroft, but were hit on the break and went 3-1 down.

United raised their game and Grant was awarded United's second goal after a massive kick from keeper Sam. It was a nail biting finish but United could not get the equaliser. Well done to both teams.

Crawley Green Youth B 3
Leighton United U11 A 5
United were caught sleeping in the first few minutes, and Crawley punished them with a goal. This awakened United and Charlie Beary drove balls down the right wing and into the box, but Crawley cleared the ball well. A trip in the box then gave Crawley a penalty which left Charlie Copper with no chance.

United had no choice then, but to push forward and Jono and Harry Lander in Midfield battled defiantly and managed to get the ball to Brett Rason whose quick thinking shot hit the target. The dependable rear gunner of Neel Slatter then made the back four look invincible and Crawley breaks were quickly turned into united attacks, as JC found Luke Janes lurking who levelled the scores.

The second half started with a blistering 35-yard strike and superb goal by Paolo Bagatti, this drove United to charge forward and be awarded a penalty, gloriously taken by JC and United's forth. Crawley tried to break through but Jake, Liam and Ollie defended strong. MoM Slatter then drilled the ball forward to Jordan Davis who crossed the ball onto the awaiting head of Luke and United's fifth. Well Done Leighton a brilliant game to watch.

Leighton United U13 1
Shefford Saints U13 2
A magnificent performance by United against last week's County Cup finalists saw them play some quality football.

The game started in a very one sided way with Shefford having to clear off their line early on. Then some great running by Ash saw him beat plenty of players to square the ball for Lewis to place past the keeper.
United didn't stop pushing for a second goal and came close with Keegan. Connew was excellent down the left side and continued to cause problems all game.

The second half started with Saints coming out and scoring with a very good goal.

Up front Casey and Ash worked the Saints defence hard. Ferry played well on the right of midfield. Russo and Bell proved ever reliable at the back with Clegg who was having an outstanding game. Jedd Harding stepping in as goalkeeper was safe and solid in goal. Unfortunately for United a Shefford player miss hit his cross which looped over Harding and landed just inside the goal.

Sadly with 20 minutes to go United suffered two injuries and with no substitutes finished the game with nine men. A defeat but this team are playing so well at the moment.

WING RAIDERS
Deanshanger Colts 2
Wing Raiders U11 1
Looking to avenge a heavy defeat earlier in the season, Wing were quick out of the blocks and applied all the early pressure.

The midfield of McSweeney, Wiggins and Allen controlled the game and the domination paid off when W.Jones set up Barrett for a neat chip over the keeper 0-1.

Deanshanger battled back, but Chapman, McCabe and Giltrow held fast in defence, and when they did get through, keeper and M. Jones showed great awareness and agility to deny them. Half time 0-1.

The fresh legs and strong tackling of Heasman and Goode told as Wing threatened to double their lead. The post saved Deanshanger twice in quick succession after excellent interplay between first Barrett, Allen and McSweeney and shortly afterwards between Giltrow, Chapman and W. Jones.

With ten minutes remaining, Deanshanger forged their way into the Wing half and knocked in an equaliser. 1-1.

The draw looked likely, but a fortunate break from Deanshanger led to a well taken goal with just two minutes left. 2-1.

Wing threw everything at their opponents with shots peppering the Deanshanger goal, but without reward. A disappointing result but Wing's best performance of the season. MoM M. Jones for a terrific display of goalkeeping.

SOUTHCOTT OWLS
Southcott Owls U8
v Newport Pagnell
Southcott secured yet another excellent away victory on Saturday extending their unbeaten league run.

Four goals from Jake Saunders and two goals from Tommy Johnston secured a flattering scoreline against a Newport Pagnell side that created a number of chances.

The first goal came against the run of play, with Southcott penned in their own half for the first five minutes.

However, the ball was passed to Jake Saunders who escaped the defence to score one of his trademark goals.

Jake's second soon followed after with a tremendous shot from the right hand side.  By the end of the first quarter, Saunders had already secured his hat trick.  The game subsequently entered a period where both teams created and spurned chances.

Newport Pagnell had some great chances, but strong defending by Karl Waydick, Miles Drabwell and Connor James kept Southcott in the game.
The second half of the match was marked out by some excellent midfield dribbling and passing from Benedict Turley and Craig Rattray and by two excellent goals from Tommy Johnston – the first of which was a scorching half volley from outside the box.  Jamie Hunt was unlucky not to score, hitting the outside of the post.

Two late, deserved goals from Newport Pagnell ensured an exciting finish before Saunders ended the game as he started, gaining his fourth goal. Overall, a great team performance.

Southcott U11 0
Leighton Corinthians 5
Corinthians were miles better on the day, and after a first half in which Southcott got almost everything wrong they found themselves on the end of a five goal drubbing.

In the second period Owls were much better. Paolo had a belter, as did Jonathan Adams and Southcott were far more dangerous.

On another day they could have got a couple back. But to Corinthians' credit they got bodies in the way of everything and just looked more determined.

They defend in greater numbers and they attack with far more pace and the pace was our undoing. Top marks to our lads though - 4-0 down at half time is never easy but we had a go and credit to the players for that.

A late goal from another long ball that done us for pace and game set and match. Well done Corinthians - a footballing lesson from a very good side.

LINSLADE GREENLEAS
Linslade Greenleas Athletico U9 2
Harrold & Carlton Panthers 0
The second of a double-header fixture saw Athletico reach the semi-finals of the cup.

Athletico knew they would have to play better this week but it took until just before half-time to slot an early goal mouth scramble into the net, courtesy of Dillamore's Furnishings Man of the Match Dimeo. Despite failing to convert an early penalty, Williams worked hard on the wing, with some trademark big boots, combining well with a rejuvenated Culley in midfield.

The second-half saw the visitors applying a lot of early pressure and Athletico had to defend hard, with Cantwell making a number of crucial clearances and Axford proving hugely reliable with some suicidally brave goalkeeping!

A combination with Captain Kharawala saw Dimeo take a second to give Athletico some breathing space. But Panthers pressed on and created many chances that went unconverted due to the battling efforts of Potter.

As the game reached its final stages, Liggett pushed forward and came close to adding to his leading goalscorer total and giving Athletico time to reorganise their defence. But come the final whistle Athletico had stepped up and can now look forward to the semi-final in four weeks time.
