Owls U13s in seven goal thriller
LEIGHTON UNITED
Leighton United U8
Markyate

MARKYATE took a goal lead. However, United responded with great defending by Potts and Field. Head made a great run down the middle and made a great pass to Sibley who scored his first of the game.

Christie made a long run down the right and superb pass to Sibley who scored his second. Markyate nearly equalised but for a fantastic clearance by Culley. Culley then set up Sibley for his third goal.

After the break Markyate piled on the pressure with three successive corners but Hibbitt and Farragia helped keep them at bay.

United then broke away with Loader passing to Sinatra who slotted in a great left footer to put United in front.

With just 10 minutes left, Markyate came back strongly. United's Lindgren made some great saves but in the end Markyate made a great recovery.

United team: Oliver Culley,Chris Field, James Head, Edward Hibbitt, Liam Lindgren, Zoe Potts, Alex Sibley, Gianluca Sinatra, Kian Christie, Lenny Loader, Kailan Farrugia.

Leighton Town Reds U8

THE first local derby of the season was a cracker with United only just edging it by the odd goal in five.

Town started well with great passing. Freddie and Archie stood firm in defence and, Edward linking well with Louis, Town had a couple of chances. Henry and Sam were hungry for goals and United's goalie, Arron, pulled off a great save from Sam but Louis following up slotted home the rebound. End to end football ensued and both goalies were playing superbly.

Just before half-time United equalised through Charlie (the panther) Pattison.

In the second half, United began to apply pressure with Harry Hewitt breaking down th ewing and whipping crosses into the box. Town's Leo, Charlie and Nathan came on for the Reds and pushed on.
But United gained the upper hand with more shots from Adam Hurley and Louis (Sky) Walker.

Town's goalie Josh made some great saves but was unable to prevent United going ahead again through Charlie Pattison. Nathan was tackling brilliantly with Charlie and Edward combining well for Town.

Freddie's tackling was timed to perfection and a great pass to Louis saw him draw the opposition in and square the ball to Henry who hammered home the equaliser despite solid defending from Mad Max and Jake.

The match looked destined for a draw but then Louis Walker emerged from a haze of driving rain with a daring run and scored.
Town's MoM was birthday boy Edward. United's MoM Louis Walker.

Leighton United U9 1
Brickhill Wanderers U9 4

UNITED were put under early pressure by the league leaders, and the visitors went ahead through a long range shot.

The home side dug in well in defence with some dogged tackling by Josh Syndicome and excellent shepherding of the rampaging Brickhill forwards by Mitch Butler.

Philip Clarke in goal was kept busy and his grey strip turned dark brown as the rain swept in and conditions became very difficult.

Midway through the first half, Rachel Moffat won the ball in defence and powered her way forwards knocking defenders out of the way before passing to James Brett. Brett pirouetted on the edge of the area and looped a deflected shot into the top corner for an equaliser.

Brickhill continued piling forwards in the gloom but were thwarted on each occasion.  Ben Hagger was dangerous on the right for United and put a number of great crosses in, with Brett and Callum going close.
The score remained 1-1 well into the second half.

United counter attacked on several occasions but could not find the net.
Brickhill finally found a way though late on as United tired, with three quick goals. Although defeated, United's spirits remained high until well after the final whistle having put in a great performance against a strong team. MoM Hagger.

Sandy Girls U10 2
Leighton United Girls U10 6

UNITED started brightly forcied several corners early on. Savannah Shepherd and Lucie Webster both set up Jasmine Page for shots which were cleared away to safety.

Eventually, United's pressure led to Rachel Moffat slotting home a left footer for the lead. Alisa Chapman played wide on the left and picked up a pass from Jade Linders before sliding it across the area for Moffat to bang home a second three minutes later.

Moffat's shooting boots were firmly on and after seeing two more shots saved, powered in another goal for a first-half hat-trick.
United continued moving forwards, with Charley Lambert putting in some fine tackles. Sandy were dangerous on the break and, from a United corner, scored an excellent goal.

On the stroke of half-time, the crowd went wild after Chapman scored her first of the season after so many near misses.

Almost from the re-start, Webster won the ball and set Moffat up for a long shot - saved by the keeper - but Page followed up to make it 5-1 at the break to the visitors.

Page went close several times early in the second half, but Sandy again broke and fired past Charlotte Mulford to bring the score back to 5-2.

After that, Mulford had little to do as her team-mates peppered the Sandy goal, with Shepherd particularly unlucky not to score and Moffat hitting the post.  From a very tight angle on the right, Moffat squeezed a shot between keeper and post in the final minutes for her fourth of the day and a well deserved 6-2 win. PoM Rachel Moffat.

Leighton United U10 C 1
Flamstead Youth 5

THE match against Flamstead started promisingly for United with some great attacking manoeuvres from Aaron Dann and Connor Coulson that resulted in at least three strikes on goal within the first ten minutes. It seemed only be a matter of time before United would take the lead following some great runs by Nathan McCarthy and two further strikes from Gino Franciamore.

A corner from Flamstead struck home though and with a 1.0 lead the opposing side began to flex their muscles and catch United on the break. Brave counter attacks from Aaron, Oliver Chambers, Owen Read, Mark Childs and Adam Farmer Patel failed to stop the onslaught from Flamstead and their excellent two strikers provided three outstanding goals that left goalkeeper Aiden Matthews helpless as the game began to crumble.

United's Connor Coulson pulled one back late in the second half to make it 4.1, a goal they really deserved and the lads looked likely to score again until a tremendous shot from Flamstead buried any chance of a late recovery making the final score 5.1.

MoM for United last week was Owen Read but this week, coach Barrie Childs awarded a double to Nathan and Adam.

Leighton United U10B 2
Bedford FC 2

UNITED played away against Bedford and both teams were fighting for top position.

United started strong, quickly dominating the game passing the ball well. James Leighton and Jonah Gutteridge made great runs and quickly tested their keeper. Jay Denniston crossed a corner to Nathan Ashburner who put it away for United's first. Theo Cox and Alex Aldous-Ball tackled hard passing the ball to Gutteridge who battled relentlessly in mid-field. Denniston took a throw which found Ashburner again for his second goal.

Keeper Brett Smith handled anything that came his way ensuring United were 2-0 up at half time Bedford fought back in this second half and managed to pull one back. United had plenty of chances but were denied goals. Chris Lane continued the pressure pushing the ball through to Louie Clowes and Leighton who could not find the back of the net. Cox and Aldous-Ball worked tirelessly in defence as did keeper Smith.

Luckily for Bedford the second half was an extra 9 minutes long giving them opportunity to equalize just before the ref eventually blew his whistle. MoM went to Jonah Gutteridge and Jay Denniston. A disappointing result for Utd but with an extra long second half not surprising.

Caldecote A U10 boys 5
Leighton United D U10 boys 2

UNITED played some of their best football to date and took an early two goal lead through Grant Brandon, after some excellent work from MoM Oliver Brown.

Nickolas Tompkins played his best game in goal, and Louis Lenander, Joel Parish and Zoe Molloy both battled well as did Torem Ozturk.
United held it to 2-1 at the break, but the physical presence of Caldecote played a part after the break.

The score was soon level and United battled well, but Caldecote scored their third and United's heads dropped and they scored a quick three more. This score didn't reflect the game. Well done United.

Sacred Heart U11 girls 1
Leighton United U11 girls 3

UNITED started well with good passing from the whole team. Charlie Hedges in goal, made some great saves when needed.

The defence of Georgia Carey and Sarah Miller kept Sacred Heart on their feet and stopped their striker getting through. Taylor Dolan, Sammy Lay-Flurrie and Niamh Ryan, kept the pressure on the defence, and passed balls through to Zoe Molloy up-front.

Abigail Luby come on and scored after a good cross from Zoe. Maive Kenny played a big part in the second goal, with a good pass to Zoe who shielded the ball well to lay it off to Abi who smashed the ball at the keeper which she couldn't hold.

After the break, a good move found Sammy saw her place her shot to the right of the keeper. Sacred Heart pulled one back, but United held out with a good team performance.

Leighton United U11 A 4
Crawley Green A 2

UNITED looked to settle the scores after narrowly being defeated last time these clubs met and they did not disappoint.

A superb corner, from Brett Rawson, fell to Charlie Beary who did not miss the chance to hit the target. Jordan Knight then made a spectacular run down the left wing and finished with a class goal.

Crawley started to put pressure on United, but Liam McGuire and Jake Shawe made important tackles when called upon. More pressure from Crawley and Charlie Cooper made two glorious saves before half time.

The second half spurred Jarred White to make a great run and finish with a well taken goal. A shove in the box from United, then gave Crawley a penalty, which they weren't going to miss.

Neel Slatter and Ollie Hibbitt had to hold Crawley at bay, as they gathered momentum. Luke Janes and Charlie McClelland also dropped deeper, to assist a solid hard working Jordan Davis fending off any Crawley attacks. Jonno MoM then produced pure class, taking on two players and finishing with a venomous strike into the top of the net.

The game was won, but a last minute goal from Crawley, was not enough to spoil Leighton's celebrations.

Leighton United U16B 0
Crawley Green U16 4

UNITED changed their formation and lone striker Roberts held the ball well, ably supported by the midfield trio of Butler, Goodyear, and Ryan Minney.

Ratcliffe and Lynch in midfield ensured Crawleys playmaker had a quiet game.

The back four of Holden, Nichols, Dyer and Corbett were again superb throughout the game holding the line well and providing great cover to the midfield.

Stand in keeper and MoM Ben Perrin had his best game of the season making several last ditch saves including a great tackle when one on one with the opposing striker.

United were unlucky to go in one down just before half time.
Some tired legs were substituted and again United started excellently producing one of the best moves of the match, which culminated in Price's shot just clearing the bar. This proved the turning point in the game with Crawley further extending their lead.

A terrific free kick from James Cheshire saw his long range effort beat the keeper only to ping off the crossbar. The pace of King and Lafferty worked well on the wings, creating opportunities.
A brilliant performance by the whole squad.

LEIGHTON TOWN
Leighton Town U8
Brook End Colts U8

TOWN started really well with Kyle, Harvey and Connor H in defence.
Benjamin played in goal and made some really solid saves. Jack and Taylor played up front and got themselves in space and passed the ball really well.

Molly and Lloyd came on and made a difference. Connor M had his first game in defence and played fantastic.

Jack placed the ball well and passed to Taylor who passed to Kyle, unfortunately Brook End stopped the ball and came forward but Benjamin stopped the ball and kicked to Connor H, who passed to Harvey who ran from the halfway line, Brook End tried to tackle and passed to Lloyd, who nearly got through with a great pass.

Lloyd made some really good tackles and passed to Connor H who then passed to Molly.

A good pass from Connor M to Lloyd, who took it round a Brook End player and passed to Molly, she tried to get passed the defence and took the ball round three players, but it hit their player.

Brook End had a corner and crossed the ball in the air. Benjamin saved a cracking right foot shot and it got the crowd going. Kyle gained possession and put the ball through to Harvey, who took it round two players and then scored. MoM Kyle.

Westoning Recreation Club A 2
Leighton Town U9 2

ON a pitch that resembled the Somme a fantastic game of football was played by both teams. In the first half great defending by Alex and Bradlee kept the home team at bay. With Jack and George driving forward Town took the game to Westoning.

Some good football saw Westoning take the lead and then Isaac made some good saves.

Suddenly Jack broke up an attack and galloped down the wing sending in a great cross and with three players in the middle George slid to make it 1-1. Nathan and David were closing down brilliantly from the front also to keep it level at half-time.

In the second half Town pressed on and fro a great cross David swivelled and volleyed Town into the lead. Great defence by Luke and Callum who came on and with Leyton attacking the left Town looked for a third. Nathan cracked the post with a great shot and at the other end Isaac puled off a superb double save.

With four minutes left a break from Westoning gave them an equalizer. In the end a draw was a fair result as both teams were a credit to themselves and their league.

Leighton Town Spartans U12 4
Caddington FC 3

BOTH teams made a scrappy start, but from this a well directed headed ball from Koch hit the bar and Town began to settle.

Caddington were first to score after a foul on the edge of the box to Whitby, Waldock took the free kick and struck the ball high into the top of the net leaving the keeper in no-mans land.

Caddington were denied a goal by a dazzling goal line clearance from Farrugia but moments later they broke the defence and took the lead once more.

After the re-start Boniface put Whitby through for the equaliser and good interplay from Koch, Cardinale and Whitby enabled Cardinale to score also. Patterson and Sanderson came close with a couple of shots, but were unable to beat the keeper.

Despite good defending from Ballard, Cox, Farrugia, Sutton, Vine and Wavish, Luton drew level again leading to a tense final five minutes.
A last minute corner found the head of Franklin who ensured the win for Town. A valiant save late in the game from Cavender enabled Town to take away all three valuable points from this gruelling encounter.

Oakley Rangers U13 1
Leighton Town U13 9

COMING back to the league after a string of cup wins, Town played the worst 35 minutes of their campaign.

In the first half, they went one nil down to a bottom side who proved to be no where near an easy game.

However, the second half was completely different. Keeper Thomas was bored! Defenders Gillings, Spencer, Johnson and Till didn't get a sniff of the ball with Town all over the opposition.

Midfield of Forbes, Quigley, Hodges and Fairclough passed the ball superbly with Forbes and Fairclough sharing a decent amount of assists.
Strike force of Newman and Hill didn't seem quite right this week. But then Hill swapped with Munt and the goal drought ended with shots from all angles.

An ill Edwins didn't get a chance on the pitch but Gallagher and Tartaglia did playing well with Gallagher in the centre and Tartaglia down the flank. Smith came on after a lengthy injury, up front.
He played well coming close a few times.

Goalscorers: Newman 2, Munt 2, Hill 1, Till 1, Gallagher 1, and Tartaglia 2.

Leighton Town U14 girls 2
Chesham 1

TOWN started the brighter taking the game to Chesham forcing some early chances for Rosie, some excellent last ditch defending kept Chesham in it.

The breakthrough came from a pin-point corner from Rosie that gave Danielle an easy tap in.

The game then settled into a fast and furious pace from both teams, with Town's defence of Amy, Daisy, Kirsten and Kerry lapping everything up with ease. They played some great balls out to Sym, Heidi and Danielle, but that final pass just would not come.

Chesham held the ball up well when attacking and were contributing well to an exciting game. Town were awarded the first of two penalties for a shove on Rosie. Chesham's goalie saved well.
This gave Chesham confidence for the second half and they soon drew level with some good football.

It looked to be heading towards extra time when Town put in an extra effort through Georgina, and Jess linking well with Sym to slot Rosie through on goal, the shot being handled on the line. Penalty and Rosie stepped up again, this time no mistakes.

Chesham had no time to come back. Town were through to the next round. PoM: Amy Hake.

Leighton Town Youth U14 6
AFC Kempston 2

Unlike last time these teams met, Town started well and were in front within five minutes. A fine turn and shot by B.Graham was parried by the keeper, Muchemeyi was on hand to rifle the rebound home. Town soon scored two more. The first was a superb finish from Ellam who got on the end of a Muchemeyi cross after a fine through ball by Chatterton. The third was more routine as Elliott's clever chip left Ellam one on one and he finished with aplomb.

Town lost a bit of momentum after the break and fair play from the visiting lino meant Town's fourth which only just crossed the line was awarded to Muchemeyi.Town sniffed a hat-full but were caught on the break with Tyas beaten by a thunderous drive which Payne tried to block but to no avail.

Town hit back immediately as MoM Elliott's jinking run ended with him rippling the onion bag from long range. But goal of the game went to B.Graham who left three opposition players on their backsides before blasting home from a narrow angle. It was the visitors who scored last though with a well worked little number which was the least they deserved.

AFC Dunstable 1
Leighton Town U14 2

AFTER the first win for the Dunstable side last week the Leighton boys new it would be a battle, as always.

The visitors created a host of chances in a tight first half but only had a Graham goal to show for their toils as he latched on to Ellam's clever through ball before toe poking past the onrushing keeper.

The hosts chances were few and far between but a fine interchange of passes wrong footed Chatterton and Harley leaving a tap in past the helpless Tyas.

Town's best work came down the flanks as Pursey and Rodger used the space provided by the massive pitch as Turner and Payne slipped balls forward.

In the second Town always looked dangerous on the break using Palmer and MoM Muchemeyi's pace and tireless running.
Town's winner came from a free kick conceded when Penn's one two with Kirkwood found Pursey who was scythed down.

Elliott's cross bobbled in the box before Payne's sliced volley was sliced on by Rodger into the air and over the keeper into the onion bag, and although the opposition linesman bizarrely spent the rest of the game with his flag up the ref rightly ignored him leaving Town unbeaten in eight league games.

Luton Borough B 1
Leighton Town U15 3

AFTER just two minutes, the first of many good Lee Adams long throws was nodded on by Tom Coleman and won a corner. Tom Gordon's immaculate delivery was headed powerfully home by Charlie Green.
Town dominated territorially, but conceded when an attacker was allowed to run free.

The error was not repeated, as Callum Boskett, Liam Edwards and Adams tackled and headed superbly. They were aided by Green's immense display in midfield.

Town threatened considerably down the flanks, with Jordan Potter combining superbly with Gordon, who mastered his full- back. Jack Sewell worked tirelessly, and his foraging and superb ball saw Gordon hit the side netting.

The half finished with Danny O'Donnell's twinkling wing skills and astute ball enabling the skilful Alfie Ruston to sting the keeper's hands.

Soon after the break, Boskett thunderously headed in a corner to give Town the lead.

After Sewell's shot was fumbled onto the post, and Edwards nearly scored, Green completed Town's trio of headed goals.
Luton did not fold, and Matt Fisher made some excellent saves to prevent any comeback.

Substitutes Luke Binding, Tighe Campbell and Luke Evans did well, on a day when every Town player caught the eye with something top-notch.

LEIGHTON CORINTHIANS
Raynsford U11 3
Leighton Corinthians U11 2

CORINTHIANS' long unbeaten start to the season came to end in Henlow as they were beaten by the better side on the day. Corinthians seemed lethargic at the start and were continually beaten to the ball, conceding two goals.

A stern team talk at half time saw Corinthians battle back, matching the home side and showing glimpses of the football they are more than capable of playing. Louis Brown beat the keeper to a 50-50 ball firing the ball in from a tight angle to put them back in the game.

It wasn't long before Corinthians' equaliser came when MoM Callum Kidney who worked tirelessly throughout raced clear, drawing the goalkeeper, before slotting the ball home. The last ten minutes saw both teams going for the win, before a defensive mix up led to a Raynsford player being brought down in the area and scoring from the spot to claim all the points.

A disappointing day for the league leaders.
Team: Frame, Elliott, Pacey, Brown, Dandy, Cawood, Johnson, Buckman, Briars, Batten, Kidney, Rhodes, Starling, Richards, Wyatt.

Newton Longville Reds 18
Leighton Corinthians Tigers 0

THERE was no cup shock in this match as the gap of four divisions showed.

Luck was certainly with the home team for some of their goals, but they fully deserved the win.

Hopefully the Tigers have learnt that every player needs to put the effort in for the entire match. Tigers were up against it from the start as the Reds launched attack after attack.

Goalie Ryan Eaton did not deserve this score line and if it were not for some great saves the score could have been closer to 50. Sean Hull battled well in midfield and was missed when he was substituted following an injury.

With a player down, Newton Longville made sure of the advantage and at half time it was 7-0. Jack Wears arrived and gave Tigers some bite in midfield. Nathan Wilson once again showed great attacking dribbling skills and captain Tom Adams harassed the home defence and forced them to make errors. JJ and Callum Millar battled well in the second half and Ben Sanders played some lovely passes to the attackers and defended well. MoM was given to Eaton and Sanders for never giving up and full commitment.

Good luck to Newton Longville in the next round of the cup.

Bletchley Colts 0
Leighton Corinthians Tigers U14 7

A FINE team performance by Tigers saw them run out comfortable winners in their first competitive game for a month.

Tigers dominated first half possession exploiting space on the right to create a number of early chances through the excellent Rhys Richards, ably supported by Tyron Foster and Billy Pantling. Eventually, Tigers superiority paid off with Peter Wilmer getting the vital touch to open the scoring before setting up Jordan Lapworth for a sweetly struck second.

Bletchley's few forays into Tigers' territory were dealt with by some solid defending from central defensive partnership of Thomas Knight and MoM Chris Lawford.

Soon, Tigers extended their lead, Matthew Ferguson scoring an impressive first half hat-trick as Bletchley found his pace and finishing too much to handle.

With the score 5-0 at the interval the game seemed over as a contest but Bletchley did improve in the second half and, to their credit, didn't give up. However, Tigers managed a couple more strikes, Conor Goodger on hand to score from close range and Jack Ellens netting with a fine shot.

The game ended with Tigers satisfied with a clean sheet and comprehensive victors.

WOODSIDE
United MK Magpies
Woodside Rovers U8

SEEING one magpie is unlucky. Being up against a whole squad is very unfortunate indeed!

Despite starting so well, Rovers' winning streak came unstuck on a very muddy pitch.

Bradley Harding-Farrington, captain for the match, slid in to put his side into the lead early on.

Max Jones and Sam Beaumont outran their markers in midfield (they would have touched every blade of grass if there had been any).

Whilst out wide, Ryan Connew and Ross Daggett were making the opposing defence look like clodhoppers. As conditions deteriorated more, Woodside made even heavier weather of it.

The usually prolific Freddie Heath should have, scored on two occasions. And Rowland Guwa deserved better after showing deft footwork.
So when Rovers fell behind, it seemed rather unjust. Especially as goalkeeper William Shaw was made to retake two goal kicks before a retaken third fell to a United striker who capitalised.

Then, as Woodside pressed to re-adjust the balance it left the defence of Seb Wawrzyniak and Theo Davison increasingly exposed.
It was no surprise when the Magpies saw the glint of victory and stole all three points.

MK City Eagles 2
Woodside Rovers U9 11

IN what was arguably the Rovers' best performance of the season, they came out 11-2 victors against MK City Eagles.

This was a second round cup clash and the Rovers came out of the blocks very quickly with five skilful goals from there forward players. MK City fought back gallantly and scored twice before half time but this was quickly stopped by Woodside's precise tackling in defence and midfield.

The Rovers started the second half very quickly and went 7-2 up from excellent through passing from the midfield to our strikers, slotting them passed the goalkeeper with ease. Another four goals sealed the game for Woodside at 11-2.

Team: Steve Hunt, Jack Vincent, James Culley, Henry Hogg, Fergus Walsh, Adam Sayell, Thomas Williams, Kelsey Wilkes, Mitchell Stephens.
Goals: Kelsey Wilkes, Thomas Williams, Fergus Walsh.

Woodside Wanderers U10 2
Woodside Rovers 3

PASSION, pride, commitment and skill in a magnificent epic cup tie that saw all players, both Rovers and Wanderers applauded off after the game went into a dramatic extra time.

Rovers were pegged back twice by a determined Wanderers team before Owen Claridge intercepted a pass straight from the kick off in the second half of extra time, making a strong direct run on goal before coolly slotting the ball home.

Luke Williams scored the first two goals for Rovers - the first a left footed drive from outside the area and the second a low level shot into the far corner.

Ben Crallan, Sam Cook and Blake Lewis were resolute in defence with keeper Noah Heath making strong saves behind them.

Mason Coleman was controlling in midfield, Jay Stephenson chased and the running at the end of the game by Joe Harley was as good as scoring a goal.

Woodside Rovers U15 2
Great Linford Lions U15 4

LIONS were Rovers opposition for the second encounter of the season.
Rovers looked to shut down the game, playing a 4-5-1 formation and it worked well with Lions finding it difficult the play through the midfield of Robertson, Stiles, Jell, O'Donoghue and Jones.

Rovers conceded after 20 minutes when Lions broke away from a Rovers attack Lions scored again to go 2-0 up at the break.

Knowing they had to attack, Rovers played 4-4-2 in the second half and looked in control until some sloppy defending lead to two goals for Lions.

Rovers looked out of the game until the last 20 minutes of the match when they sparked into life.

With keeper Cherry performing excellent saves and Callaghan making goal saving tackles down one end, Rovers concentrated on attacking with O'Donoghue, Jell and Ryan coming close. It was Jones who scored Rovers first when the ball found its way to him at the back post and he passed the ball into the corner.

Rovers were now in control and O'Donoghue scored a beautiful goal to put them within two goals of Lions. But it was too little to late and Lions won the game 4-2. MoM Cherry.

SOUTHCOTT OWLS
Southcott Owls U7
Linslade Greenleas Dynamo U7

ALL players can be proud of themselves after illness prevented both teams from fielding full strength sides.

However, this went unnoticed in a thoroughly entertaining game which saw some great play and goals.

Charlie Waple-Moors opened the scoring and this was followed by two super strikes from Owen Merrington and Ryan Smith – both of which were saved by the Owls' keeper.

In the second quarter the Owl's keeper went off injured and at the other end only excellent defending by MoM Oscar Barnes prevented Southcott from levelling up. Then followed a moment of inspiration as Waple-Moors lobbed defenders and the keeper for a great second goal.

Dynamo's top scorer Merrington scored two quick goals to press home their advantage before Smith ended a mazy run across the length of the pitch with a fine strike.

In the second half the Owls came back strongly and were only thwarted by the ever-reliable Dynamo keeper Emily Heale. Strong pressure then resulted in two deserved goals for Southcott before Smith finished off the scoring.

Southcott Owls U9 1
Tattenhoe Tigers 1

DESPITE dominating Saturday's game, Southcott narrowly escaped defeat against a well organised Tattenhoe side.

The first quarter saw Southcott mount a number of attacks, featuring some excellent shots from Jake Saunders whose attempts were foiled by some excellent saves from the Tattenhoe goalkeeper.

Occasional attacks on the break from Tattenhoe were effectively snuffed out by some excellent defending by Craig Rattray and Karl Waydick.
Southcott continued to create chances in the second quarter, which included some excellent work by Benedict Turley who hit the post.

Further shots rained in from Jake Saunders and Jamie Hunt in the third quarter, with Tommy Johnston battling in midfield.  Strong goal-keeping kept the game scoreless until Tattenhoe split the Southcott defence with an excellent through ball and rifled the ball into the Southcott net.

Tattenhoe's share of the game increased until a frantic last few minutes which saw a shot from Lauren Avery saved.

Finally, in the last couple of minutes of the match, Jake Saunders shot from the left into the top corner of the net to provide a late and well deserved equaliser, rounding off an exciting and entertaining match.

Watling Youth U14 1
Southcott Owls U13 6

EARLY in the first half a weighted through pass from Foulger, found Waterhouse on his own to slot it past Watling's very good keeper.

Foulger's pass to MoM Hearn to run on to and push the ball home for 0-2.
Soon after the break Moffat chased a lost cause, tackled the keeper and was left to pass into an empty net for number 3.

A questionable penalty was converted for the home side, but soon after, Waterhouse struck from outside the box into the top corner for 1-4.

Goal of the match was started with a perfect pass down the wing from Thomas; Hearn took it to the goal line, passed it across the goal for Moffat to slot home.

Murray took a great free kick, the keeper parried and captain Clegg thumped home for 1-6.

Brown and Thomas worked the wings well from defence. Clegg and Gillings soaked up everything central. The midfield trio of Murray, Foulger and Messam won everything in midfield. Moffat and Hearn on the wings kept the game flowing with great runs and crosses. Waterhouse chased everything and Bramston was faultless in goal.

EATON BRAY LIONS
EB Lions U9 Reds 1
Crawley Green Lions 2

THIS match was evenly balanced with both sides producing some good football but after eight minutes EB Lions went one down and then against the run of play conceded a second just before half time.

EB Lions started the second half strongly and after seven minutes Dax Roe put EB Lions back in the game with a well taken goal but despite hitting the post twice and the bar EB Lions couldn't score again and the match ended 1-2. Thes match could have gone either way but this time EB Lions just missed out.

Team: Roe, Quigley, Nevitt, Oliver, Barbato, Mines, Higgs, Giblin, Shrowder.

EB Lions U10 4
St Martins Orange U10 2

A missed header from Dylan Karavadra in the first minute set the tone for Lions in the first half. Good chances but no goals. Despite the bright start from Lions, St Martins fought back well and went into the break with a two goal lead which could have been worse if not for James Pratt's goaline intervention.

Half time changes galvanised Lions who were quickly back in the game with goals from Jack Cook from long range just crossing the line and Archie Bunker bundling in from close range.

A number of fine saves from MoM keeper Tom Sage kept the scores level but with fine runs down the right flank from Archie Bunker, Lions looked the more likely. The capacity crowd were rewarded when a long strike from Dylan Karavadra crept under the St Martins keeper. The game was sealed when a cross shot from Jack Cook was forced into the net by Jonny Evans.

EB Lions U13 girls 4
Sandy Colts 1

A FANTASTIC game for the Lions who dominated from the first kick. In the opening minutes the game was all in the Colts' half with at least three good goal scoring opportunities denied by the Colts keeper.

Some great runs from Dev and solid tackling from Darcy (setting up three of the four goals), Eden and Katy kept the pressure fully on for the Colts. The two attempts by the Colts to score in the first half were saved confidently by Nancy.

Just one minute before half time Meg scored the first long awaited goal for the Lions.

The Lions controlled the game once again in the second half with them scoring quickly again from Meg within the first 3 minutes.

A rare opportunity for the Colts gave them a goal, narrowly missed by both Katy and Nancy.

In the final five minutes the Lions scored two in quick succession, the first from Hattie and the second from Eden which was helped in by the Colts' keeper.
Lions earned two corners from Shannon, one resulting in the fourth goal.  Beth gave a great performance, tackling hard and winning ball after ball with many scoring opportunities, earning her GoM.

Team: Oliver, Thiel, Scott, Ashby, Ferguson, Hudson, Woolsley, French, Viljoen, Kirkwood, Byrne.

LINSLADE GREENLEAS
Linslade Greenleas Inter U11
Moretonville Jrs Rangers U11

INTER very nearly pulled off the shock of the round but in the end were narrowly defeated by a team two divisions higher than a very hard working Greenleas team.

Inter started very brightly with Wesley Russell, Kyle Gallagher and Harry Cosby looking very bright in midfield. To the delight of the watching spectators Albie Hall showed great skill when breaking from the half way line leaving a couple of defenders in his wake then centred for the very alert Callum Hack to stab home from close range.

This shocked Moretonville into life and they created a string of chances but Inter defenders Oliver Hill, William Kemp and Cameron Hemmings threw their bodies in the line of anything the visitors attempted.

Moretonville continued to pile on the pressure in the second half but George Higginson in the Inter goal made a number of fine saves. George Pepper linked up well with Brandon Nicholson to create a chance for the lively Hall.

Unfortunately for the gallant Inter with ten minutes left on the clock the pressure finally told when a Moretonville striker smashed home an unstoppable shot. And worst was to follow as the visitors took the lead after a goalmouth scramble.

Inter came back strong to set up a grandstand finish. Moretonville were now on the defensive. Matt Leedon set up Hall to shoot inches wide and with time running out Kyle Gallagher hit a rocket free kick which looked destined for the top corner until a Rangers defender deflected it over the bar. MoM Oliver Hill.
