v Woburn Whirlwinds
The opening 20 minutes saw a tussle dominated by both defences. Clear chances were few and far between, and a very capable Sporting defence snuffed out any early threat from Woburn. The breakthrough came early in the second half when an excellent cross was cruelly deflected via a Sporting shoulder into the roof of the net.
A few minutes later a calm finish extended Woburn's lead and despite some spirited play, Sporting where unable to capitalise on their increased possession as the game came to an end. Man of the match for Sporting was Owen Lindars who put in a very determined performance.
Sporting team: Owen Lindars, Ryan Kench, Giorgio Testa, Scott Towell, Liam Mundin, Ben Winfield, and Joel Blades.
