A woman from Leighton Buzzard has been named as a finalist in the Best Business Women Awards.

Suzanne Spicer, founder of accountancy firm Spicer & Co, is up against six other finalists in the Best Woman in Business category in the annual awards.

The firm, which has offices in Dunstable and Newport Pagnell, is committed to employing apprentices and trainee accountants. They are also involved with several local charities in Dunstable.

Suzanne said: ‘It’s been a pretty exhausting few months with the coronavirus.

"We’ve been working really hard to help our clients and hearing that we’re award finalists has given us something to celebrate."

Suzanne, who lives in Leighton Buzzard with her husband - who also works at the firm - and her two daughters, is no stranger to the Best Business Women Awards.

Last year she also made it through as a finalist – and is hoping this time she will lift the trophy.

She said: "It would be brilliant to win. But whatever the result I’m proud to be part of a national award that recognises women in business."

Due to COVID-19 the awards final is due to take place at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow on April 23.
