And following the official annoucement, the club issued the following statement: "As a community rugby club, and on behalf of our members, LBRFC is excited, delighted and immensely proud to make our facilities available to the Leighton Buzzard Primary Care Network for use by the patients of the GP Surgeries across Leighton-Linslade, and the surrounding area, as the Leighton Buzzard Covid-19 vaccination centre.

"The club is keen to play its part in this vital cause and to be joining in the fight against the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has affected all of us, over the last 10 months.

"Over the past few weeks, we have been working very closely with the local Primary Care Network and Bedfordshire's NHS Clinical Commissioning Group, transforming the clubhouse into our community vaccination hub, with the expectation that this will provide the means of reducing the impact of the virus, and helping to bring a much-needed return to some form of normality, in the coming months for all of us."
