A Leighton Buzzard couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary at the Three Locks Golf Club on Saturday.
Norah and Trevor French, of Leighton Buzzard, toasted their 50 years of marriage with family and friends at a sit down meal and party.
Trevor said: “It is funny because we actually met on a blind date, it was supposed to be a one off and here we are 50 years later.
“We had a lovely evening Saturday.
“It was a really good turn out, lots of people came to celebrate with us.
“We both enjoyed it and it was great to have all our family and friends together.
“I would say the secret to our 50 years of marriage is not having too many rows really.
“We love each other and that is the most important thing.”
The happy couple tied the knot when they were in their 20’s at The Holy Cross Church, Slapton, on September 4, 1965.
They went on to have two children and they have two grandchildren.
Their daughter Alison Coomber said: “A fantastic time was had by all, with an excellent meal, lots of family and friends who all got on really well together and many memorable photos and their wedding video playing for all to see.
“It was lovely to see mum and dad so happy.”
