WORK is finally beginning on the construction of Center Parcs’ newest holiday village on land owned by the Woburn Abbey estate at Warren Wood.
Construction of an access roundabout is to start soon and the £200m development is expected to welcome its first visitors in the summer of 2013.
The resort, the company’s fifth in the UK, offers the prospects of thousands of new jobs at the site and in support businesses.
It will boast 700 forest villas, a 75 bed hotel and spa, pools, indoor and outdoor sports and leisure facilities, a lake, retail and catering outlets.
Center Parcs chief executive Martin Dalby said “This is a significant milestone as it takes us one step closer to bringing Center Parcs to Bedfordshire.”
