Bedfordshire Police have warned members of the public not to put themselves in danger while attempting to search for a missing man from Linslade.

Specialist search officers have been undertaking a detailed search of the area around Falcon Mews today to help locate Neil Devlin, of Town Bridge Mill, Leighton Road, who went missing on New Year’s Day.

But during the past few days, people living in the town have been organising searches to help scour the area looking for anything that can help with the investigation - despite this week’s conditions.

A Beds Police spokesman said: “We would like to thank those members of the public who have been in the area searching for Neil but would like to remind anyone in the area that the river is in flood and they should not put themselves in danger.”

Officers will be in the area tomorrow undertaking further searches.

Neil is described as white, 5’2” to 5’5”, with a small/slim build, short ginger hair and a pale complexion. He was last seen wearing a dark anorak style jacket with a hood, a dark top and jeans.
