Police appeal for return of ‘sentimental’ Victorian chimney pots stolen in Leighton

Victorian chimney pots with ‘great sentimental value’ have been stolen from a garden in Leighton Buzzard.

Thieves took the pots from outside the home in Albany Road at about 12.45am on Tuesday January 13.

Beds Police are appealing for anyone who may have information about the incident.

PC Chris Turner, investigating, said: “The victim is a keen gardener and the Victorian chimney pots were from her mother’s old house.

“They have been on displayed in her front garden for more than 10 years.

“The pots are very heavy and several offenders may have been involved to move them, it is possible they used a vehicle to carry them away.

“If you saw or heard anyone in Albany Road just past midnight on Tuesday, 13 January, or saw an unusual vehicle in the vicinity I’d like to hear from you.

“If you see the chimneys or are offered them for sale please contact me.”
