Police are appealing for information after thieves smashed their way into a parked car in Leighton Buzzard.

The theft happened between 10pm and 10.35pm on Thursday, March 20 in Avon Way when the offenders smashed the rear window of a blue Vauxhall Omega and stole several items.

A green and black Hitachi Chop Saw, a yellow Dewalt 18v combi-drill, and an 110V Power Toll Transformer were all stolen from the car.

When the car owner spotted them and tried to stop what they were doing, the offenders got into a silver Vauxhall Cavalier and drove towards him.

Fortunately the victim was not hurt. The car, which had its number plate obscured with masking tape, was seen being driven off along Shenley Hill Road towards Heath Road.
