Leighton Linslade’s Dash Direct (D1) bus service is offering a chance for its passengers to get discounts at many local high street stores.
With a valid Dash Direct ticket, passengers can get a range of discounts, from money off a coffee to free delivery on furniture. The bus service, managed by Arnold White Estates and operated by Arriva runs every 15 minutes from Sandhills to Leighton Buzzard Railway Station.
Martin Ohrland, Associate Director for Stuart Michael Associates and Travel Plan Coordinator for the Southern Leighton Buzzard Development, said: “A key objective of the Travel Plan is to encourage residents to travel sustainably and to shop locally.
“This is a great opportunity to help promote the local businesses on the High Street, whilst also increasing patronage on the bus service.
“There are so many wonderful stores in the town that new residents are not aware of. If this promotion can help to get people out of their cars and shopping locally then it will be a real benefit for the town.”
A range of local stores are taking part in the promotion to help encourage patronage on the bus and get people into the high street. For more information, see promotional leaflets on the bus or follow the service on Twitter @D1DashDirect.
