Did you fall for our April Fool gag in last week’s LBO?

We can now confirm that the page 3 article about Leighton-Linslade Town Council receiving an ultimatum from solictors representing US President Barack Obama, was an April 1 joke.

According to the story, sources at the White House, in Hockliffe Street, had told the LBO that a legal team from ‘the other White House’ in Washington DC contacted them over building naming rights.

We also revealed how the American flag might soon be flying outside the building.

It appears one or two of you may have fallen for our prank, despite the heavy hint of a US White House spokeman called April Phoule!

On Facebook, reader Steve Turczyn said: “Oh, boy, I fell for this! ‘US White House spokeman April Phoule said...’ Well played, LBO, well played.”

On Twitter, Phil Crooks (@crooksiephil) said: “Well, the fact that I got totally suckered by the @LBOnews #AprilFool prank suggests to me that I need coffee – clearly I’m not with it yet!”

Medal Hound (@Hels205) said: “But there’s more than one #whitehouse - Leighton Buzzard(2) & Towcester & Milton Keynes & Northampton! Why LB?”

Mayor Amanda Dodwell (@CllrADodwell) even gave it a wink of approval: “Very good ;) ;)”

Roy Williams emailed in to say: “Great one! You fooled me at first! Enjoyed it!”
