Dog attack in Leighton park full of children

A dog-on-dog attack in a Leighton park full of children has led the police to issue an appeal for witnesses to the incident.

The attack happened in Mentmore Park, near Mentmore Road, at approximately 11am on Saturday, February 15.

A Staffordshire Bull Terrier got away from its owner and bit a Labrador on its neck.

PC David Adams, who is investigating the incident, said: “This was an unprovoked attack by the Bull Terrier which appeared to have been dangerous out of control in a park full of children and other members of the public.

“We would like to talk to the owner of this Staffordshire Bull Terrier about the incident and anyone else who witnessed it.”

PC Adams revealed that, fortunately, the Labrador was not seriously hurt.
