Cottesloe School students in Wing are once again celebrating improved GCSE results.
The school has achieved 67% of students gaining five A*-C with English and Maths, a 4% increase on the 2014 results.
Headteacher Andy McBurnie said: “The very high A*-C GCSE pass rates in a wide range of subject areas throughout the school, reflect the outstanding effort of students and teachers and our belief in each individual child reaching their full potential.
“I am so pleased the students have received the grades their hard work has warranted; 19% of all the examinations taken were passed at A*/A grades.
“The increased academic focus of the students and the improvement in the quality of teaching has increased the pass rate by 17% in the past three years. It is a wonderful time to be at the Cottesloe School, there is a real energy and desire to develop further.”
A range of GCSE subjects enjoyed very high A*-C grades with Additional Maths achieving 95%, Ethics 95%, English Language 82% and Chemistry 84%. The percentage of students making expected progress in English and Maths was 84% and 78%, respectively with some individual student performances particularly outstanding.
