Beds Police received a call at 12.30pm, describing the package which “appeared to have blood and flies surrounding it.”

Officers attending the scene alerted the force’s forensics team, which took pictures and then cordoned off the area.

The matter was referred to Central Beds Council once it was found the package contained only animal entrails.
