A Leighton Buzzard band are calling for the support of the town to help them make it to the Sweden Rock Festival.
Steve Lathwell, of Linslade, is the guitarist in Endless Mile, a hard rock band fronted by Richie Hevanz.
The band have released a downloadable EP, a music video and toured the country.
They entered a competition for unsigned bands to win a place on the line up at Sweden Rock Festival.
They have made it to the final 150 bands, from over 2000 entries.
Steve Lathwell said: “We genuinely can’t believe that we have made it this far.”
The five piece band must be in the top 25 most voted for bands by January, 11, to get to the next stage, from there four bands will be chosen to play.
He added: “We really want to win this as this will be the biggest step we have ever taken in making music our career, which we have already spent years trying to make happen.
“If we win, we would be joining the likes of Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Judas Priest, Slash from Guns n Roses and more huge bands on stage in Sweden.
“I am confident we can do it because the response we have got from the video has been excellent, but there is some big competition from other really great bands.
“I hope the local community will help get a local band onto a world famous festival.
“This would be great in helping to promote the local arts and culture we have here in Leighton Buzzard.
“We have some incredible talent in Leighton Buzzard which we should be proud of and we should show it to the world.”
