Summer activity sessions are being hosted in Leighton Buzzard over the summer holidays by a housing group.
Aldwyck Housing Group’s community involvement team is hosting a series of family friendly activities, at their schemes across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire during the summer.
Astral Park Community Centre, in Leighton Buzzard, is one of five locations hosting the exciting summer programme, which is holding a different activity every Friday.
The events begin on Friday, July 24, and will run for six weeks over the holidays.
The fun sessions will range from football to arts and crafts.
Other events planned include cricket and rounders, Olympic sports, t-shirt design and kite flying.
A youth project is also held every Wednesday between 5.30pm and 7pm.
All activities will take place between 12.30pm – 3.30pm and are free of charge, but visitors are asked to take their own drinks, hats and sun cream if the weather is hot.
Community trips will be made to Mead Open Farm on Wednesday, July 29 and to LegoLand on Wednesday, August 26 and these will be available for a small contribution.
Hafi Rahman, youth and ASB interventions officer, said: ‘This summer we have planned a range of fantastic events for the local community, which we hope will encourage our residents and young people to get to know each other and get involved in our community events and trips.
“The summer programme is a great way for us to engage with our customers and offer something back to the community.”
