Popular soprano and local entertainer Fiona Harrison will be taking to the stage in her home town of Leighton Buzzard on Saturday (April 16) when she will be treading the boards at Ollie Vees in ‘The Good Old Days’.
Fiona will be bringing the wonders of the Music Hall stage to the Market Square venue as she steps out in full Edwardian costume following in the footsteps of stars such as Marie Lloyd and Vesta Tilley.
Dubbed by one theatre critic “A Voice in a Million” after her stunning performance in the touring stage musical From Cobbles to Rock. Fiona has led the way in vintage entertainment and is renowned for her beautiful costumes, excellent singing voice and superb showmanship having perform extensively in theatres and cabaret venues from as far a field as Japan to the Outer Hebrides and Europe.
Saturday night’s show will be a treat for fans as she will be singing Burlington Bertie from Bow in her top hat and tails and encouraging her audience to join in with classics such as Down at the Old Bull and Bush, and Don’t Dilly Dally on the Way.
This year Fiona will be performing upstairs in the exotic location of Ollie Vees’ Tiki Lounge, which offers a licensed cocktail bar and will also be servicing teas and coffees during the evening.
Doors open at 8pm and Fiona will be presenting a programme in two 45-minute sets which promises to involve the audience and invoke memories of the popular TV show with lots of audience participation.
Tickets are priced at £10 each and are available by ringing Ollie Vees on 01525 851726. During the interval Fiona will be presenting one of her Music Hall CDs as a prize for the best Victorian/Edwardian costume, although dressing up is optional.
