Get active in parents’ week

Parents are invited to take part in a host of free activities with their children, with everyting from football fun to bike maintenance and baby massage.

It is all part of National Parenting Week, with activities taking place from Saturday, October 17 to Friday, October 23.

The week is being organised by Central Bedfordshire Council’s parenting team, and parents will also gave a chance to find out advice and information on things such as internet safety, speech and language services and good diet and oral health.

Parenting Week opens with a fun-filled extravaganza at St George’s Lower School, in East Street, Leighton Buzzard, from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, October 17 with Bedfordshire Football Association putting on sessions for kids aged five to 13 and their parents, bike maintenance from Halfords, current Miss Bedfordshire and Miss UK finalist Megan Bayliss running nail care session for mums and daughters, soft play from Leighton Children’s Centre, youth counselling advice from Sorted, and dental hygiene and Kick Ash services from Public Health.
