Great Brickhill celebrated raising over £3,000 at their tenth annual coffee morning for Macmillan on Saturday, September 28.

The Great Brickhill Macmillan Coffee Morning team held their first ever coffee morning in 2006 in the village bus shelter and raised £321 for the charity that supports people affected by cancer.

They have held a coffee morning every year since, as this was the tenth year, they hoped to hit their target of £10,000 over the ten years.

A spokesperson for the team said: “We are delighted to say we raised a fantastic total of £1,697.96 and therefore exceeded our target of £10,000.

“Our village’s grand total, to date, is £10,062.66

“In addition two ladies in our village, Kate Johnson and Pauline Waller, had their hair cut and raised £1,680.29 as well as giving 12 inches of their hair to The Little Princess Trust to make wigs for children with cancer.

“We are pleased to say that the grand total going to Macmillan this year is £3,378.25.”
