Jessie J has recognised the efforts of a Leighton girl after she cut off her hair and donated it to charity.

Risa-Lilac, nine, of Leighton Buzzard, cut 11 inches off her hair and donated it to the Little Princess Trust, she also decided to set up a fundraising page to raise money for the charity.

After hearing of her efforts the singer said via Instagram: “I don’t know your name. But you are amazing.”

She then re-posted the message and story on her Twitter and Facebook pages and her website, attracting over 250,000 likes and shares.

Her mum, Sasha Paice, said: “The response has been amazing, Risa-Lilac cannot believe that Jessie J recognised what she has done, I am so proud of her.

“People have been commenting what an amazing thing she has done, and we are all so proud of her and she is very proud of herself.”

Risa-Lilac hoped to raise £100 on the fundraising page, she has now raised £350 for the charity.
