Heathwood Lower School and Clipstone Brook Lower School both wrote to the LBO to let us know about their special Pudsey Bear days that were held last Friday (November 16) to help the broadcaster’s appeal.

Everyone had a “spotacular time”, with Heathwood teachers and pupils dressing up and enjoying a spotty treasure hunt, as the children laid a trail of milk bottle top ‘spots’ filled with coins to see how much money they could raise.

Those who guessed the amount of money raised and the length of the chain were winners of 1,000 house points.

The kitchen staff joined in with the dotty day, too, baking Pudsey Bear biscuits to sell in aid of the charity telethon.

Headteacher Jackie Wright, said: “We wanted to make the day fun for the children but also link it in to our school vision of ‘Learning Together and Having Fun’.

“Looking at the photographs I think we can confirm that a good time was had by all and over £250 was raised for this good cause.”

Meanwhile, at Clipstone Brook Lower School everyone had been eagerly searching their houses for items to sell at their Children In Need jumble sale.

Staff donned Pudsey t-shirts, onesies and spotty bows and hats to celebrate the day, and decorated the hall with cheerful bear bunting.

Amie Thompson, chair of the PTA, said: “At Clipstone Brook Lower School we held a Children In Need toy and cake sale and advertised for people to bring in their old toys. We also had lots of lovely cakes made, too!

“We raised just over £470 in an hour. It was amazing!

“We had so many donations and lots of money was spent to help us raise some money this year.”

The school would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to their sale or donated items, and as you can see from the smiley staff photos, everyone had a great time from beginning to end.
