MP Andrew Selous will be making one of his first official visits after his re-election when he opens the St Barnabas Summer Fair in Linslade this weekend.
The fair is being held at Linslade Recreation Ground, next to St Barnabas Church, at 11am until 3pm on Saturday, June 13.
Mr Selous is the Minister for Prisons and Rehabilitation as Parliamentary under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Justice as well as MP for South Bedfordshire.
Fr Bernard Minton, Vicar of St Barnabas, said; “We are very happy to welcome Andrew to open our summer fair which is an important part of parish life and our fundraising.
“Andrew has always been a great supporter of our community and we congratulate him on his re-election.”
The popular Heath Band will be playing to give an appropriately grand fanfare for the opening and then to play during the day.
The annual fair is a real family event with displays by the Army Cadets, Linslade Obedience and Ringcraft Club, Pop ya Collar Street Dance Group and Alakasam Rock and Roll Dance Group.
With many craft stalls from local organisations and businesses there is something for everyone with food and a bouncy castle completing the family theme.
