Musical Theatre High! Academy presented their third variety performance at The Venue MK on March 21- 22 to a standing ovation.

The 150-strong company entertained audiences over the two days performing songs, dances and scenes from a vast array of musicals.

Now in its fifth year, Musical Theatre High! offers students who love theatre the opportunity to learn from professional actor and principal, Richard Reynard who has appeared in numerous West End shows, supported by his colleague and life-long friend, Kate West.

Scholarships and awards were presented at the final performance. The Junior Scholarship was won by Charlotte Kelly and Senior Scholarship by Shona Macpherson. The Rosie May Year Scholarship and trophy awarded to Ethan Doyle, Special Achievement Award to Georgia Crosland and Vittoria Graves. The new Boys Award to Max Smith and The Scarlett Strallen Award went to Georgia McElwee for her great work ethic and talent.

Classes run throughout the week at Leighton Middle School for students aged from three up to 20. The summer term sees an adults class added to the timetable for anyone over 21.

Each half term a different musical is selected where songs, dances and scenes are taught. The class will be run by Richard and also West End star Zoe Curlett who played Christine in The Phantom of The Opera. No experience required, just a good sense of humour!
