Pedestrian killed following collision on A505 near Leighton Buzzard


A pedestrian has died following a road traffic collision on the A505 near Leighton Buzzard this morning (Sunday).

Officers were called just after 5.30am to reports of the accident.

A grey Ford Fusion was involved in the collision with the pedestrian as the car was near the Stanbridge turn. Emergency services attended and the pedestrian was taken to hospital where he later died.

Sgt Sam Cordingley, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit, said: “An investigation is ongoing, and as part of that we are asking anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward if you witnessed the incident, or saw either the pedestrian or the vehicle in the lead up to it.”
