A community group who are all fans of Judge Dredd visited pubs and shops in Leighton Buzzard on Saturday to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The group, The Mega City Judges, decided to raise money for the charity in memory of Carlos Ezquerra, the co-creator of Judge Dredd, who died of lung cancer in October.
Steve Bennett, from Leighton Buzzard, is part of the group who dressed up as Judge Dredd and collected money for the cancer research charity.
He said: “We are a community who are all Judge Dredd fans, we decided to raise money for Cancer Research UK when one of the co-creators died of cancer.
“We are hoping to raise as much money as possible for a charity that helps a lot of people.
“We decided to go to different places, in our Judge Dredd outfits, and try to raise money for the charity.
“We raised £200 and will hopefully add to that by the end of the year as we travel to more places.
“The local pubs and businesses in Leighton Buzzard, and the council have all been really supportive.
“We would like to thank the Lancer, the Red Lion, the Black Lion, Ollie Vees and the Golden Bell for letting us in on Saturday.
“If anyone else wants us to visit and collect at their place please let us know.”
