A mother of two is getting ready to take part in the London marathon on Sunday, April 26, to raise money for Get Kids Going.

Sarah Chasey, 38, of Leighton Buzzard, feels this is the right time for her to take on the challenge, after completing three half marathons last year.

She said: “I have always wanted to run the marathon but I have never felt ready, after my final half marathon I felt I could do more. I knew it was the right time for me to take on the challenge.”

Get Kids Going provides disabled children and young people with sport equipment, training, physiotherapy and helps with travel to sporting events.

The mother of twins said: “I really wanted to run to help disabled children and young people get going. Especially those who cannot walk, never mind about run.

“My six-year-old daughters are very active and I think that really puts things into perspective for me, the charity provides help and support for disabled children to allow them to carry on being active and take part in sports,

“The charity helps children who need sports wheelchairs. The average cost of a sports wheelchair is £3,200, I am hoping to raise £1900.”
