No easy feat for Suzie

A mother of two has set her sights on completing six fundraising events to raise money for charity.

Suzie Trew-Foster, 38, of Heath and Reach, is hoping to raise £3125 for Walk The Walk, a cancer charity.

She will be taking part in each of the events in memory of her best friend who passed away from cancer last year.

Her first event is the Brighton marathon on Sunday, April 12, and then the London marathon two weeks later, she hopes to run them both this year, a feat she has not yet managed.

She said: “My best friend battled breast cancer and beat it but sadly passed away in September from mesothelioma.

“I will be running and walking the events in a bra, as the charities tradition, with a picture of her attached to it, she will be driving me through the events.

“I will also have a picture of my nan who sadly passed away last year.

“The training is going really well, apart from a few injuries, I have been treated for sacroiliac dysfunction and sciatica at Newport Pagnell Medical Centre.

“I am really looking forward to the events, but not so much the marathons because I know they will be hard.

“I want to complete them both without walking.”

She will also be taking part in two moon walks and the London to Brighton walk.

Her family are very supportive of what she is doing, last year her twins cheered her on at the London marathon.

To help Suzie reach her target, the Axe and Compass will be hosting a family fun day on Sunday, May 17.

She added: “The fundraising is going well, through donations, collecting 1ps and 2ps and selling charity pins, I have raised £1650.

“I hope to reach my target for a worthy charity.”
