Schoolgirl inspired by Jessie J to donate hair to charity

A nine-year-old girl was inspired by Jessie J to cut her hair and donate it to the Little Princess Trust.

Risa-Lilac Paice, of Leighton Buzzard, had eleven inches of her hair cut off and also decided to start a fundraising page to raise money for the charity.

Her mum, Sasha Paice, said: “She always wanted to get her long hair cut shorter but I was not too keen on the idea.

“She saw Jessie J and another young girl on TV have their hair cut and donate it to the charity.

“She asked me if she could have her hair cut into a bob and donate it to the charity to help other people who need it, I could not say no.”

The Little Princess Trust provides real-hair wigs, free of charge, to boys and girls across the Uk and Ireland that have lost their own hair through cancer or other illnesses.

The Leighton Middle School pupil said: “I wanted to donate my hair and raise money for the charity because I just love helping people.”

Mrs Paice added: “I am so proud of her, I cried when I was reading the website, what she is doing is so caring and kind, she just wants to help other people.

“When she set up the fundraising page we put the target at £100 but is already at £300, we can not believe it.

“Hopefully we can raise £350, the cost of making a wig, that would be really special.”
