On her year as mayor, Councillor Dodwell said: “Until taking on this role I had no idea how many different things there are going on in our town.

“I have had the pleasure of visiting some of the voluntary groups who work tirelessly to make life that bit better for others, and I have met many different people across the town who give freely of their time for the benefit of our community.

“To be honest, I can’t even tell you how many events I have attended, but I can say without exception that I have enjoyed every single one of them.

“I would like to thank the people of Leighton Linslade. I have really appreciated the opportunity to spend a year as your mayor, and it has been an honour to learn more about our town and the many wonderful people who live here.”
