Businesses got together in town to set an agenda for future prosperity.
Members of the Leighton Buzzard Business Collective welcomed Andrew Selous, MP for South West Bedfordshire to a meeting at Astral Park in Leighton Buzzard.
There was a great turnout of local businesses including Connells, Mini Clipper, Ultravision, Grundfos and ID Secured, who hosted the event and lunch.
With representatives from Leighton-Linslade Town Council and Central Bedfordshire Council, the scene was set for a very useful discussion.
The local business collective also took the opportunity to launch their Mission Statement - ‘Putting the buzz into business’.
A number of issues that are important to the business community were raised and debated during the event.
These ranged from patchy broadband coverage to the requirement for a full service hotel as well as the present difficulties in relation to recruitment.
Andrew shared his thoughts about Leighton Buzzard and explained how he was genuinely excited for its future and recognised how far the town had come in recent years.
As the third largest town in Bedfordshire, he told the gathering he sees Leighton Buzzard as offering lots of natural advantages and will be happy to support the collective and the town in general on the continuing journey.
A spokesman for the event said: “The meeting proved that there is already a great buzz around business here and very positive foundations in place to build on, to enable the delivery of local careers for local people within our growing community.”
