Speedo Mick has become a terrace favourite across the country after attending Everton games in his blue swimming trunks, cap and goggles, to raise money for Woodlands Hospice.
Michael Cullen, of London made a coffee stop at the town’s Costa Coffee shop on Thursday, whilst on his latest challenge - walking from Merseyside to Wembley in just his swimwear. He was on the Bletchley to Hemel Hempstead leg of the walk.
He has already raised thousands for the Hospice, based in Liverpool, that provides specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses.
Mick said: “I wanted to raise money for this fantastic organisation because they do such amazing work for so many people.
“The donations have now passed the £40,000 mark.”
His first challenge was to swim the English Channel, he then went onto walk from London to Bournemouth, in just his swimwear, for Everton’s FA Cup game at Dean Court.
His latest challenge began on Monday, April 11, he said: “This season I have been going to Everton games in my speedos and I have raised thousands through donations from fans, the home and away fans have been amazing, very supportive and have donated lots of money.
“The stewards and police have been supportive as well, it is probably not what they are used to seeing.”
