International supervillains Harley Quinn and Deadpool were spotted acting suspiciously at Leighton Buzzard Narrow Gauge Railway on Sunday.
The pair were joined by members of the scout regiment from Attack on Titan, Batgirl and Judge Dredd to give the town a taste of what could be arriving in July – an invasion from outer and inner space.
Leighton Buzzard on the Edge of Forever is hoping to bring everyone’s favourite heroes to the railway’s Pages Park station, on Saturday, July 23, and Sunday, July 24.
Steve Bennett, one of the organisers of the event, said: “We wanted to organise something like Collectormania for Leighton Buzzard, something fun for everyone. Any money we raise will go back to Leighton Buzzard Light Railway for its new gateway project.
“We want it to be for the community and for everyone to get involved.
“This was a mini event building up for the main weekend in July. We will have some stalls selling all sorts of interesting stuff, exhibits like daleks and the droids from Star Wars and people dressed up as superheroes.
“This is really exciting for us and we hope we can put on a good weekend for both the people of the area and the railway.
“If any local businesses can help with sponsorship so we can give out prizes and pay to transport some really good displays of movie props in, we can put their banners up for the weekend and put their details on our Facebook page.
If anyone would like to contribute to the displays we would love to hear from them.
“More information will also appear on the railways website www.buzzrail.co.uk and you should book tickets on the railways website as soon as possible because there is always the chance that more of the superheros will visit.”
