A Leighton Buzzard pub is offering wives the chance to drop their partners to the Husband crèche for a stress free day.

The Lancer posted the sign on Facebook offering ladies the chance to drop their other halves at the pub, where they will be well looked after. They must pay for his drinks bill when they collect him.

Adrian Lori, The Lancer general manager, said: “It was used in another Stonegate pub and I thought it was a bit of fun and might get some extra likes on Facebook. We have had a few more people in since we posted it but no one has come in and asked about the crèche yet.”

It’s not the only pub in the town with a sense of humour, last year The Black Lion placed a humorous sign in its beer garden.

The placard jokingly told parents to keep an eye on their children or the little ones could be nailed to the table for convenience.

A picture of that sign went viral after being shared on Twitter, with many users of the social network site stating their pleasure at the tongue-in-cheek reminder.
