A new partnership will see lifestyles@tiddenfoot provide 35 students who are part of the Luton Town Football Academy with discounted membership to the centre.

The students are all based at Cedars Upper School, Leighton Buzzard, which is linked to the leisure centre and their discounted membership will provide them with access to the gym, pool and classes and will form part of their training programme at the academy.

James Kinsella, contract manager for 1Life who operate lifestyles@tiddenfoot, said: “We are delighted to be able to form this partnership with the academy. This is a programme that gives real opportunity to young boys from the surrounding area and providing them with access to good fitness facilities is a key priority.”

The academy allows students to study for A Levels whilst having the opportunity

to play for the club in the conference Youth Alliance League, the highest ranked

league outside of the professional game for this age group in the UK. This

development gives students the opportunity to progress into the professional

game as well as preparing them to move onto higher education. The squad

works on a daily basis with full-time Luton Town FC coaches, training between 8

to 10 hours per week.

The Luton Town Cedars programme has in the last two years provided Luton

Town FC with one pro scholar in Harry Tamplin with five other players (Benji

Crilley, Sean McMonagle, Gabriel Oakley, Luke Dunstan and Callum Gregory) playing 20+ games for the Luton Town Pro Scholars under 18 team.
