Vandals smashed house doors and car windows in Leighton Buzzard during an evening spree before Christmas.

Several of the incidents were discussed by users on social media, with claims that stones had been thrown.

A Bedfordshire Police spokesman said: “We received four reports during this time on 23 December.

“At around 9.30pm we were informed that a single-glazed glass front door in Weston Avenue had been broken with an unknown missile. The informants didn’t see anyone leaving the scene.

“Then, at 10.30pm we were called by a householder in Brooklands Drive to say that approximately 30 minutes prior, their front window had been smashed. A stone was found under the window and was believed to have been used to cause the damage. Again, no offender was seen.

“Also at 10.30pm a call was made to report damage to a car door in Roundel Drive, by an unknown missile by an unknown offender.”

At 11.00pm we were made aware of another incident of damage, to a car window in Brook Street, by a stone which was found in the vehicle. Nothing was taken from the vehicle and no offender was seen.
